§ 70-77. Purpose and intent.

The purpose of adopting the modified county Pumping and Dredging Control Act is to protect, preserve and enhance the public health, safety and welfare and the water quality of the lakes and canals within and adjoining the town by controlling the alteration by dredging, draglining, filling, pumping of earth or otherwise altering the shoreline, land contours and/or water area of lakes or canals connecting such lakes, to protect the public riparian property rights and to preserve the natural beauty and attractiveness of such lakes and canals.
