§ 2-189. Fire suppression costs recovery.

  • (a)

    When insurance coverage is provided for any building, structure, dwelling, vehicle, trash or other article involved in a fire and has incurred damage from fire, smoke or fire extinguishment, the town may file a claim with the property owner to recover the cost of providing fire suppression response and other related services.

    (b)

    Within 30 days of the fire, the fire department shall file a report with the finance department indicating the services provided and related costs.

    (c)

    The finance department shall invoice the property owner for the cost of providing the services.
