§ 2-130. Intent.

Latest version.
  • It is the intent of this division to promote, protect and improve the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the town by the creation of the position of town special magistrate with authority to impose administrative fines and other noncriminal penalties to provide an equitable, expeditious, effective and inexpensive method of enforcing any codes and ordinances in force, where a pending or repeated violation continues to exist. It is also the intent of this division to pass on the costs and fees involved in prosecuting code violations to the greatest extent possible to the violators causing such costs and fees rather than imposing those costs and fees on the general population of the town.
